Alcohol Impairment

The impairing effects of alcohol are not easily observable in a person.  These are inward effects such as decreased comprehension, attention, and judgement or increased reaction times.  If someone is impaired (but not intoxicated) they may appear sober and unaffected by the alcohol even though they have a higher risk of crash while driving a motor vehicle.
